Tens of millions of Americans will receive their stimulus check late because President Donald Trump wanted his name on the checks.

A tweet by JM Rieger & a press release by the U.S. Department of the Treasury confirms that the Americans are receiving their economic impact payments

Washington Post's JM Rieger posted a video of U.S. President Donald addressing the media on 15 April 2020. While replying to a reporter's question Trump said that he would not sign any stimulus cheques which were being distributed to the Americans during coronavirus.

A press release by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on 13 April 2020 states that the Department of Treasury and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) estimated that tens of millions of Americans would receive their Economic Impact Payments via direct deposit by 15 April 2020. Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin said the administration was delivering fast and direct economic assistance to Americans and hoped that these payments would bring them much-needed relief.

As per the above details, Americans are receiving their Economic Impact Payments through direct deposit to their bank account.
