Organs were found missing from the dead body of a COVID-19 patient in Gorai in Mumbai.

The viral images from Gorai, Mumbai related to organ trading is false. Old photos are falsely being shared with a misleading caption.

Versha Verma, through a Facebook post, clarified that members of her NGO took the pictures during the body cremation. The dead body was unclaimed and of an unidentified 43-year-old woman. She further stated that it was collected from King George’s Medical University postmodern department at Bhesa Kund for electric cremation. She added that the images were later misused.

Gorai residents clarified that no COVID-19 related deaths had occurred in the area so far.

There has been no incident of organ trade under the name of the Covid-19 pandemic reported from Gorai or any part of Mumbai. The pictures were taken in Lucknow and are not related to Gorai, Mumbai.
