Shyam Rao Shirke prepares tea using the gas emitted from sewage silt.
A mechanical contractor from Raipur, by name Shyam Rao Shirke, has come out with innovation of producing bio-compressed natural gas (CNG) from sewage silt. He told that he had collected water from drains and made mini container to collect the water bubbles and used a drum to build a gas holder. After testing, he found this system was functioning. He further said, he then connected it to the gas stove and prepared tea. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also spoken about this invention in the World Biofuel Day event on August 10, 2018.
