The Canadian government will welcome three million immigrants in 2020.

The data by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) shows that Canada had set a plan to welcome 341,000 immigrants for the year 2020.

The news article published by Canadians Daily website has claimed that the Canadian government will welcome three million immigrants in the year 2020.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had released the report on 31 October 2018 regarding 2019-2021 Immigration Levels Plan. In that, the government had planned to welcome 341,000 immigrants for the year 2020 and 350,000 for the year 2021.

As per CIC News article, Canadian MP Marco Mendicino while delivering a speech, said that the government would welcome over one million new immigrants between the year 2020-2022.

By these reports, it concludes that Canada’s immigration department had set a permanent residency target of 341,000 immigrants for the year 2020 and not three million.
