
A California sheriff, Scott Jones tested positive for COVID-19. He had previously refused to enforce the state's mask order.
Later on Dec. 2, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office announced that Jones was infected with the virus via social media. It mentioned that Jones started showing symptoms after coming in contact with an infected employee and sunsequently tested positive. Fever, congestion, light-headedness, and a headache were Jones's COVID-19 symptoms.
