Further, Trump said that the administration team is finalizing a partnership with one of the manufacturers to produce an additional 10 million swabs per month. But Trump did not disclose the name of the manufacturer.

The New York Times quoted Trump's statement that the administration is calling the Defense Production Act on swab manufacture and will have many swabs for testing COVID-19. Trump did not provide any details regarding the company that he was referring to, or when the administration would invoke the act. Further, The New York Times reported that Trump's announcement came out when governors across the country claimed that there has been an insufficient amount of testing kits.
