The Mayor of Alton, Brant Walker had requested all residents to follow the stay-at-home order and stay indoors. However, the Alton Police Department received several complaints that the tavern was continuing to operate on weekends. On April 5, 2020, the police raided the bar to stop the gathering and found the Mayor's wife among the attendance.

Taking to Facebook, Walker wrote that his wife lacked the judgement and would face the same consequences as the other individuals who chose to violate the 'Stay At Home' order.
