Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has said an 800 km-lomg herbal belt will be developed along the highways in the state.Uttar Pradesh DCM and PWD Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed officials to develop an 800 km-long herbal belt along national and state highways. Peepal, Neem, Amla, Sehjan, Ashvagandha, Brahmi and Jatrofa trees would be planted in the herbal belt. He said the trees would provide raw material for medicines, promote biodiversity and arrest soil erosion.
