CLCAC report to Frederick Mayor and ProMed mail post confirms that Fort Detrick lab was shut down in August 2019.The report by Containment Laboratory Community Advisory Committee (CLCAC) on USAMRIID and Fort Detrick Incidents said that the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) received a formal letter from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ordering that they cease research involving the federally-regulated pathogens. The CLCAC was notified of the order on August 2, 2019, which said the USAMRIID did not follow safety practices with inadequate training of laboratory staff and standard operating procedures not being correctly followed.
