This is apart from the seizure of 3,000 kilograms of heroin worth around Rs 21,000 crore from Mundra port in Kutch.

Police say that smugglers opt for the Indian route because it works out cheaper, is a short distance, and is easy to hide. Most of the consignment is shipped from Pakistan or Afghanistan. The Gujarat coast is used as a major transit point due to its proximity to the international boundary.
