Recently, a total of 140 Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) staff, including 14 priests, have tested positive for the COVID-19 infection since the shrine reopened on June 11, 2020. TTD chairperson said most of those infected with COVID-19 are from the Andhra Pradesh Police, who have been working with the temple. The authorities have confirmed that 14 priests were among 140 temple employees who tested positive for COVID-19 and are in quarantine.
