The Madhya Pradesh crime branch and the Mahakal police together arrested three people with a trolley full of skins of two thousand cows from Ratadiya.A trolley near Mohanpura on Badnagar Road was caught with 500 bundles, with each bundle containing four pieces of cow skins. The incident occurred on July 17, 2018. During the interrogation, the accused (namely Narendra Kumar Putra Ramchandra Prajapat, Umesh Putra Rambhajan Prajapat, and Ravi Putra Kanhaiyalal) admitted that the skins were collected from a warehouse in Ratadiya village, Ujjain, and taken to Kolkata. According to ASP Pramod Sonkar, who spoke to Free Press Journal, the total net worth of the confiscated skins was around ₹8 lakh and purportedly taken to make shoes. Further Superindent of Police, IPS Sachin Atulkar ordered the file case on all three accused under National Security Act (NSA).
