Musk said he wants to equip Tesla’s next Roadster model with rocket technology so it can hover above the ground. The production could start in 2022.The reality of flying cars has been widely discussed since Tesla CEO Elon Musk told said in an interview on the Joe Rogan Experience that he plans to equip the next generation of the high-end Tesla Roadster electric car with rocket technology to improve acceleration. He also said that he is looking into putting rocket thrusters underneath the vehicle to give it hovering capabilities. In 2019 he had tweeted a GIF of a car hovering with blue light shooting from its wheels, and said “The new Roadster will actually do something like this". He had claimed that a Tesla with rocket technology would accelerate at the limit of human endurance.

Tesla podcaster Ryan McCaffrey speculated that the SpaceX package would be standard on the Roadster, which will justify its price compared to Plaid. Furthermore, in response to a Twitter user's question, Musk posted an update on the invention. The post read, “Finishing engineering this year, production starts next year. Aiming to have release candidate design drivable late summer. Tri-motor drive system & advanced battery work were important precursors".

But the product is still in the initial stages and includes many unknowns. Hence we mark this claim as Partly true.
