
The Railway ministry has donated Rs 151 crore to PM-CARES fund to help in combating the coronavirus threat.
The Indian Railways is supplementing national efforts for fighting COVID-19 by reaching out to needy people with food and other assistance. The Railway Board officials following Prime Minister's call to the nation have made a contribution of Rs 151 crore to the PM CARES fund. The Chairman of Railway Board Vinod Kumar Yadav informed that the employees of Indian Railways and rail PSUs decided to forego one day's salary and contribute to the fund. Further, he said that many Railway PSUs are also planning to contribute to the fund.
