The Indian economy is estimated to lose over Rs 32,000 crore every day during the 21-day lockdown following the coronavirus outbreak in India.

Acuite Ratings & Research Ltd estimated that during 21-day lockdown the Indian economy is estimated to lose over Rs 35,000 crore every day. Assuming 300 working days in a year, the daily output comes to Rs 45-50,000 crore which can potentially be lost due to the shutdowns.

However, brokerage Barclays has also said that an extended lockdown will cause further $234.4 billion of Indian economic loss.
