An inter-faith love story ended on a tragic note with the girls' father murdering her 24-year-old boyfriend in Ramanagara districtBoth the families had objections to the relationship over their interfaith union; the couple had eloped last month as their families disapproved of their relationship. The woman’s father later managed to convince them to return home to the outskirts of Bengaluru after promising to get them married despite the differences. However, on the pretext of discussing their marriage, the girl's father took the 24-year-old man and strangled him to death with the help of his son and others. Police said the now-deceased youth, identified as K Lakshmipathi of Basavanhalli, was in love with the younger daughter of Nizamuddin of Islampura. In his complaint, the victim’s elder brother, K Nataraj, stated that Nizamuddin, his elder son Sikandar, and their two associates Auto Mohammed and Ibrat murdered Lakshmipathi in front of him after taking them to an isolated spot in Kankenghallilaya.
