On September 4, 2020, the New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani express carried Ananya, a single lady passenger to its destination Ranchi. The New Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani special train was halted in Daltonganj station due to the ongoing agitation of Tana Bhagats at Tori Junction for several hours on September 3, 2020. The Tana Bhagats agitation blocked the trains by performing puja, singing bhajans, and cooking on the rail tracks. Several trains, including goods train and Rajdhani train, was also affected. Since the express could not be halted in Tori Junction, it had to be taken to Ranchi's destination depot.

Many newspapers had published that due to a law student, Ananya's pressure, the train had to run with just a single passenger to Ranchi as she declined to travel by bus. All passengers except the woman were sent to the state capital by buses arranged by Palamu district administration. It was also reported that railway authorities tried to convince her, but the law student from Banaras Hindu University refused to budge.

Sr. DCM Avnish Kumar rejected the news's authenticity and said that the statement of Sr. DCM Dhanbad published along with the report was never made to anyone. Railway Ministry spokesperson DJ Narain said that the woman did not force anyone. The empty rake was scheduled to run to Ranchi. Somehow, the lady came to know about it and traveled alone to her destination. He clarified that there was certainly no pressure from the lady, which forced the Railways to divert the train.
