The research paper and YouTube video by IHU Mediterranee Infection supports the claim. The research paper published by IHU Mediterranee-Infection on 17 March 2020, states that a study carried out by French researchers on chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine has been observed to be efficient on SARS-CoV-2 and reported to be effective on COVID-19 patients.

The researchers gave 600mg of hydroxychloroquine for six days to a group of patients suffering from COVID-19 from early March to 16 March 2020. This had shown a significant reduction of the viral carriage. On 6-day observation, it shows that 100% of patients treated with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin combination were virologically cured.

An interview video of Dr.Raoult as he is one of the researchers, uploaded in YouTube supports the claim and states that this study could later be extended to other viruses.
