False: A Karachi-based Pakistani organization has sent fifty ambulances to India.

Old and unrelated images of the ambulance fleets stranded on the road are falsely depicted as COVID-19 aid to India from Pakistan.India is battling the second wave of coronavirus infections. Many hospitals are running out of beds, medicines, and other critical supplies. Several countries have offered help to India, including Pakistan. Edhi Foundation, a welfare organization based in Pakistan, has recently offered 50 ambulances and medical support to India. Pakistan's prime minister, Imran Khan, also expressed solidarity with India. Since then, many on social media have posted claims which have gone viral. One such post suggested that Pakistan has sent 50 ambulances to India to help extend medical facilities. However, we found that the first viral image is taken from a news report published in April 2017 by The Express Tribune. The article mentioned it was a representative image of Edhi Foundation's ambulance service. The second image was earlier published in September 2020 by 'Live Mint' with the caption 'A fleet of ambulances from Thane.' We also found the video in the viral post was published in the ‘CPEC Bulletin’ article in 2016. Evidently old images and video is being shared to create a false impression among the masses. Hence we mark the claim as False. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
