News reports confirm that the Hong Kong police have arrested 15 activists on charges related to protests in 2019.The reports said the Honk Kong police arrested 15 prominent pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong on 18 April 2020 in connection with anti-government protests in 2019. Among those were 81-year-old activist and former lawmaker Martin Lee, democracy advocates Albert Ho, Lee Cheuk-yan, Au Nok-hin and a media tycoon Jimmy Lai. The arrests were confirmed by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong who said local police were enforcing the law against those suspected of organising and participating in unauthorised assemblies during the last year protest.
