An ayurvedic doctor has done over 125 illegal kidney transplants.

Kumar Sharma, an ayurvedic doctor and a serial killer , was allegedly involved in 125 illegal kidney transplants from 1994-2004.Delhi police arrested Devendra Kumar Sharma, a Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery (BAMS) degree holder, on July 28, 2020. In January, he failed to return from a week-long parole after serving sixteen years behind bars. Sharma was given a life sentence in Rajasthan in 2004 after he was found guilty of several murders between 2002 and 2004.  The police arrested him in 2004 and sent him to jail till January 2020, when he was granted parole. But he fled at the end of his probation in February 2020.  Sharma has reportedly carried out more than 125 illegal kidney transplants for which he got about ₹7 lakh per case.
