NDMA did not recommend another lockdown starting from September 25 to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

NDMA did not recommend another lockdown starting from September 25 to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.Reports claiming that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had urged the Union government for another nationwide lockdown beginning from September 25 have been widely shared online, along with a screenshot claiming to be of an NDMA order dated September 10, 2020.

A nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 25, 2020, to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in India. From June, the Centre started the unlocking process, which entered the fourth stage in September. However, the government denied the reports that another lockdown had been recommended, and the Press Information Bureau denied the news in a tweet with a 'Fake News' alert.
