There is insufficient credible evidence to confirm whether Vishwa Hindu Parishad has trained 5,000 Dalits as Priests.According to some reports, the National Spokesman of VHP Vinod Bansal stated that the Parishad had providing training to 5,000 Dalits to become priests throughout the county. He said that 2,500 priests have been trained only in Tamil Nadu by VHP. Among these priests, many of them have been working in government-run temples. The news was only reported by The Organiser and Swarajyamag, and both have ties to the RSS which leads the VHP.

No credible news organisation has reported that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has trained 5,000 Dalits as Priests. Further, there is no official government data which supports the claim.
