The assembly elections for the 70 constituencies are yet to be announced. Speaking at a press conference in Delhi on 3rd June 2019, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has announced free Delhi Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus rides for women in the capital city and told that women need to have safe travel experience in the capital city and the Delhi government will bear all the expenses of the scheme. He also said that those who can afford the ticket cost, should not take the subsidy so that other commuters get the benefit of the scheme.
