Sources say that Goswami would often stop at a particular spot. The police, who suspected that she had cocaine in her car, watched her movements. Subsequently, after checking her vehicle, the officers found narcotics in her bag and car seat.

On February 21, 2021, the Kolkata Police searched a parlor at a mall in Rajarhat connected to Pamela's drug seizure case investigation. Pamela, who was present along with the police, claimed that it was a conspiracy against her.

An anonymous Bengal BJP leader said that Pamela was a new candidate and held a junior profile as a youth leader. He mentioned that she had no significant interaction with senior party leaders.
