Muslim man pretends to be Hindu to marry a Hindu woman, demands Rs 25 lakh for ending the relationship.

The boy's family maintains that his name is Sahil Singh and is a child from an inter-faith marriage, whose mother is a Hindu and a father is Muslim.

The boy's family maintains that his name is Sahil Singh and is a child from an inter-faith marriage, whose mother is a Hindu and a father is Muslim. A 22-year-old woman filed a complaint at the Noida police station, claiming that her husband Sahil Singh pretended to be a Hindu to marry her, is actually a Muslim, and his name is Sahil Khan. In her complaint, the girl stated that she met Sahil at a gymnasium in Delhi, and the two became friends and then got married on May 9, 2020.

According to her complaint, she was ‘made to sign a blank sheet of paper’ when the two got married in a temple. The complaint also stated that Sahil’s father name is ‘Shaukat’ and that her husband has two voter identity cards, one with his mother’s name and a Delhi address and the other with his father’s and a Haryana address. The woman alleged that Sahil threatened her with converting her to Islam when she tried to end the marriage.

According to Additional DSP Noida, Ranvijay Singh, "all the facts that the man had told his wife seem fake, and therefore we have filed an FIR in the case." The police are trying to collect evidence in the case and will accordingly take action. The girl has already filed for divorce, and her family has accused the boy of lying about his identity. The girl’s family has further alleged that Sahil demanded Rs 25 lakh from her.

Sahil’s family, however, maintains that his real name is Sahil Singh. According to the family, he is a child from an inter-faith marriage, and his mother’s name is ‘Rama Yadav,’ who is a Hindu, and she separated from her husband, who is Muslim, in 2004. All the documents produced by his family show his name as ‘Sahil Singh.’

Since, the allegations levied by the girl’s family are yet to be proven in court, and the case is being investigated, the claim is unverifiable.
