Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has requested COVID vaccines from his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi via a phone call.
Canada has asked for 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India. The purchase would be commercial, and the Government would grant export clearance, which India said would keep domestic considerations in mind.
On February 10, 2021, via a tweet, Modi assured Trudeau that India would do its best to facilitate the supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses and agreed to continue collaborating on other significant issues like climate change and global economic restoration.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
