The 36-year-old man was entering India "illegally" through Bangladesh, after being denied an Indian visa.On June 11, 2021, the Border Security Force intercepted a 36-year-old Chinese man near the India-Bangladesh border at 7 am while trying to enter India "illegally," NDTV reported. According to the report, he told the security forces during an investigation that he is a resident of Hubei, China and that he reached Dhaka on June 2 on a business visa.

Han Junwe told security officials that he has visited India four times and has a hotel in Gurgaon, Haryana, where several Indian nationals work. The report added that he revealed that his business partner, Sun Jiang, who the Indian Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested, sent him SIM cards from India. He added that his Indian visa was declined after he and his wife were charged and had to enter from Bangladesh.

The South Bengal frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF), headquartered in Kolkata, issued a statement and said that Junwe is a "wanted criminal." All intelligence agencies are working together to unravel his links. The forces are trying to find if he was working for an intelligence agency in China.

The police have recovered a Chinese passport, an Apple MacBook, two iPhones, Chinese and Indian SIM cards, two pen drives, three batteries, two ATM cards, and American, Bangladeshi, and Indian currencies from his procession, ET report said.

In a video statement of Junwe said he entered India by "mistake" and wanted to "surrender" before the ATS Lucknow, Hindustan Times reported.

Thus, the claim that the Border Security Force intercepted a Chinese national along the India-Bangladesh international border is true.
