India has extended medical assistance worth about USD 1 million to North Korea.

India has sent anti-tuberculosis medicines worth US $1 million to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

On July 22, 2020, India had extended medical assistance to North Korea by supplying 1 million dollars of anti-tuberculosis medicine in response to a request from the World Health Organisation (WHO). India was sensitive to the shortage of anti-tuberculosis drugs in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) and was supplied on humanitarian grounds. Atul Malhari Gotsurve, the Ambassador of India, handed over the consignment to the DPRK authorities in the presence of the WHO representatives.
