but the party is yet to designate a constituency. All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi's (AISMK) sixth general council meeting was held in Thoothukudi on March 3, 2021. Sarathkumar, the party's founder, and his wife and South Indian actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, along with other party members, were present in the meeting. Radikaa Sarathkumar said she would contest the 2021 legislative assembly election during the meet if the party leader and members agree and designate a constituency.
Radikaa Sarathkumar, in an exclusive interview with the Hindu Tamil on the occasion of International Women's Day, expressed her views on politics and the upcoming elections. She said that she is ready to face the election and wants to be the woman chief minister of Tamil Nadu. She said she was involved in politics from the sideline since 1989 but now intends to get involved seriously. Addressing a question on her preferred constituency Radhikaa said there could not be a personal preference in the political arena, and party volunteers have to value their leader's views.
Indian Express quoted Radikaa Sarathkumar saying, "If my leader wishes, I will contest in the upcoming election. Few people said I should contest in Kovilpatti or Velachery, I will do whatever my leader wishes, I will fight for my leader. Victory is our only target."
The AISMK, who has already allied with Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi(IJK), is also planning to associate with the Makkal Needhi Maiam party founded by actor Kamal Hassan, although it is not official yet. Kamal Hassan is reportedly going to contest the upcoming election from Velachery. Although Radikaa hinted at contesting from Kovilpatti or Velachery constituency, if the alliance between AISMK and Kamal Hassan's party materializes, she may not contest from Velachery.
Therefore, it is clear that Radikaa Sarathkumar will get a ticket to compete in the 2021 Assembly elections; but it has not been finalized if she would contest from Kovilappati or Velachery.
