Vikram, an IIT aspirant, was found dead as per the Print article. There is no news coverage about it in the mainstream media to verify the incident.A report said that Vikram, an 18-year-old, was struggling to study during the lockdown, and he was hoping the JEE exams would be postponed. A massive section of students had demanded to further delay the exams due to the pandemic. The Supreme Court rejected the plea for postponement, and the final date of the exam was announced for September. The report said that Vikram killed himself after this news reached him on 17 August. However, there are no news reports of this incident.

Sarit K.Das, IIT Ropar Director, said that further delay in academic sessions would put undue pressure on students and the faculty. Many students' associations have also been rallying for the postponement of the exams. N Sai Balaji, president of the All India Students Association, said that they had received messages from students who are incredibly disheartened and depressed. They are holding fasts and online protests to demand that the government rethink holding exams during a health crisis. Congress's student body, National Students' Union of India(NSUI), would also be holding relay hunger strikes. The Students' Federation of India(SFI) has also been campaigning against social media exams.
