
Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said schools will tentatively open in or after August.
Sources in the ministry said schools and colleges, which have been shut since March 16 owing to the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the COVID - 19 outbreak will reopen in August, subject to the situation of the pandemic at that time. The ministry will take a decision based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
Pokhriyal tweeted, "The suggestions received will be examined and sent to the @MoHFW_INDIA and Ministry of Home Affairs for appropriate actions regarding framing guidelines for education sector during COVID-19 times."
