News release by Denmark Ministry of Finance confirms that the government has banned registered firms in tax havens from accessing financial aid.The release by Ministry of Finance on 18 April 2020 stated the government and all the parties signed an agreement on comprehensive relief packages for Danish employees and companies affected due to coronavirus pandemic. The amendment to the aid measures mentioned that the companies registered in tax havens following EU guidelines cannot receive compensation. Further, the agreement stated that the companies applying for the state aid must declare that they will not pay dividends or buy back shares for the financial years 2020 and 2021.
Reuters quoted Rune Lund, spokesman for the leftist Red-Green Alliance who said that the new law applies to firms registered in countries on the European Union’s list of non-cooperative tax jurisdiction.
