Due to the lockdown measures implemented around the world, wild animals have had more freedom to roam the streets undisturbed.Lockdown measures because of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in people staying inside their houses after governments of various countries had ordered as such to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Animals had been roaming the streets as there were no people and roads without traffic had allowed them to do so without being approached by humans in late April and early May 2020.

Some of the animals like wild boars and red foxes were seen in Israel. A heard of Kashmir goats was seen in Wales, deer known as Nara was stopped in Japan's residential area. Sri Lanka witnessed wild deer roaming in the deserted streets, and the staff at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago had allowed penguins to walk on the streets. There was also an instance where a leopard was spotted on the deserted streets of Hyderabad, India.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
