Amid border issues, both India and China have significantly reinforced their troops on their respective sides along the Line of Actual Control.
People's Liberation Army had increased its border force in Aksai Chin to between 1,000 and 1,500 troops, from about 500 to 600. It moved across the Line of Actual Control at several locations in eastern Ladakh. They also mobilized additional conventional combat forces from the 6th Mechanised Division.
India also has bolstered its defenses and reinforced the forward positions along the LAC with additional army personnel from the 3rd Infantry Division. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force has been shoring up its posts with men and materials to support the army.
