Dilip Ghosh who said that the pandemic was over and the lockdowns imposed in the state were politically motivated, has tested positive for COVID-19.
However, after a controversy saying ‘corona is gone’ while justifying organizing political rallies, he tested positive for COVID-19 on October 16, 2020, and has been admitted to a high dependency unit (HDU) in a West Bengal hospital. A senior doctor at the hospital said that he is having a 102-degree fever and was currently undergoing treatment. Further, doctors said that his oxygen saturation level is fine.
The state had recorded 3,275 positive cases in a single day on October 01, 2020, with 59 deaths, and the case count did not seem even to decrease.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
