Jimmy Carter lives in a house that is estimated to have a value of $167,000 in 2018. He buys clothes from the Dollar General store in Georgia.
Carter was seen at the grand opening of Dollars General store in his hometown in 2004. According to his eldest grandson Jason Carter, the former president often buys clothes and other stuff from the store's chain at the Dollar store. He said the old couple leads a normal life and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
Former White House communications director Gerald Rafshoon has also noted that Carter doesn’t like big shots, and he doesn’t think he’s a big shot.
