There are no drugs proven to help doctors for the treatment or to cure COVID-19 and Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) poses serious health risks.Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration(TGA) in its safety advisory over Miracle Mineral Solution(MMS) dated 13 November 2020, has said that Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) is marketed as water purification drops, containing a mixture of 28% sodium chlorite and water, which is a chemical used as a textile bleaching agent and disinfectant. It mentioned that the concentration of sodium chlorite poses a serious health risk like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and severe dehydration. Further, MMS is not approved by the TGA for any therapeutic use.

The World Health Organization in a series of bright-blue graphics of myth-busters had said that there are currently no drugs licensed for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. Also, several drug trials are ongoing.

The United States Food and Drug Administration(FDA) in its warning states that MMS produces chlorine dioxide, a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment. High oral doses of this bleach, such as those recommended in the labelling, could lead to life-threatening health complications.

Therefore, it can be concluded that MMS does not cure COVID-19 and the consumption of this liquid could cause fatal health complications.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
