Germany has lifted its travel ban on people from countries hit by the delta variant of COVID-19.

Germany has eased stiff restrictions for travelers from five countries that were severely affected by the delta variant.

Germany has eased stiff restrictions for travelers from five countries that were severely affected by the delta variant. The delta variant has been identified as a variant of concern as it spreads across the U.S, Europe, and several other countries. Several countries imposed travel restrictions to contain the spread of the more contagious variant. Germany had put restrictions on travel from 5 countries which included U.K., Portugal, Russia, India, and Nepal. These countries were classified as "virus variant areas."

However, the restrictions are removed as new COVID-19 cases in Germany have reduced drastically. Germany's public health agency, the Robert Koch Institute, said the five countries would be removed from the top coronavirus risk category. People traveling from these countries are not required to quarantine if they are fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19, including symptoms, prevention, and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organization or your national healthcare authority.
