Some states that are at present coronavirus hot spots have delayed the reopening of schools. Meanwhile, Trump and his Education Secretary Betsy Devos have issued federal threats to public schools asking them to reopen by the fall. Trump said that the administration was pushing Congress to provide $105 billion to schools as part of the next coronavirus relief bill, which is under negotiation. He added that if schools do not reopen, the funding should go to parents to send their children to a school of their choice.
