Naveen, 34-year-old, posted an inflammatory meme in response to inflammatory comments on Krishna.

Facebook post of Naveen P was not in response to the inflammatory comments on Hindu gods, its been related to an old derogatory Facebook post.

Facebook post of Naveen P was not in response to the inflammatory comments on Hindu gods, its been related to an old derogatory Facebook post.Images circulating on social media claimed that Naveen P, the 34-year-old nephew of Congress legislator Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, had replied to stating that one Basheer Adyar had uploaded a derogatory post on Facebook insulting the Hindu goddess Lakshmi. Naveen had posted a picture insulting Prophet Mohammed.

A simple google search Adyar Basheer’s name in Kannada (ಬಶೀರ್ ಅಡ್ಯಾರ್‌) takes us to articles published by Kannada Newspaper Prajavani on June 17, 2018, and a report in The Hindu published on June 18, 2018, informs that he was booked by Barke police for making a derogatory post against Shivaji. “The police had registered a case under Sections 153(a) and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code, back then.

Hence Naveen’s remarks could not have been in response to a post that no longer exists on Facebook. His post was therefore morphed into the comment section of a screenshot of Basheer’s old post to give the false impression that Naveen was reacting to derogatory remarks against Hindu gods.
