
The viral image is morphed. The original picture is related to a gunshot incident in the US taken by a medical student.
A reverse image search revealed that the original photo was published on Feb 14, 2019, by The New York Times. The photo was taken by Mr. Curran, a third-year medical student at Temple University Hospital in the U.S. Curran said that he wanted to show what happens inside the trauma center and inspire change among citizens to end gun violence. The photo depicted the resuscitation efforts to save a teenager who was a victim of gun violence. An identical photo was also found on satire websites 9GAG and ifunny.
Therefore, it is clear that social media users circulate a doctored screenshot intended as a satire to make false claims about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.
