A total of ten European countries have agreed to accommodate 400 unaccompanied minors from the destroyed Moria refugee camp in Greece.Ten European countries have agreed to take in a total of 400 unaccompanied children from the destroyed Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesvos. Both Germany and France will take up to 150 minors each, according to Seehofer. That comes alongside commitments from Finland, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Croatia, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands, according to the European Commission.
The European governments' decision comes after thousands were forced to flee the overcrowded Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesvos when it was set ablaze in early Sept. The facility was home to 12,500 people, over four times its official capacity, according to Politico.
