Mamata Banerjee's visit to Dargah was live-streamed on her Facebook page. This visit was shared on social media with a false narrative. The West Bengal assembly elections are underway, and all political parties are trying to woo the voters. Meanwhile, several fake social media posts have targeted political parties and their leaders alike. One such viral post claimed that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had secretly visited a Dargah in Nandigram and that the video of her visit is captured using a hidden camera. Some users have shared the post with a narrative that she is fooling Hindus by secretly visiting the Dargah at night.

Mamata Banerjee had visited Shamshabad Mazar, a Dargah, in Nandigram, and the event was streamed live on her official Facebook page. First, she went to Dargah and offered chadar and later visited a Hindu temple before filing her nomination from Nandigram.

ANI has tweeted images of Mamata's visit to Dargah on the same day. Also, multiple news agencies, like Times now, Aajtak, have reported about her visit. We mark the claim as misleading as the viral video is shared as a secret visit by giving it a communal angle. In contrast, the media widely covered the event, which confirms that the visit was no secret.
