An online website has falsely reported that the Indian Government is likely to impose Financial Emergency in India to tackle the crisis caused by Covid-19.

The articles by the ABP News and The Economic Times confirmed that there is no such plan to declare a financial emergency in India.According to The Economic Times, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing the press conference on 24 March 2020 refuted the claim made by an online website that there will be a financial emergency imposed in India due to the coronavirus pandemic and she further announced that the Economic Task Force will release a relief package to deal with the impact of the coronavirus on the economy.

ABP in its article says that PIB on 24 March 2020 tweeted that an unfounded website had falsely reported about the Financial Emergency in India and ended the tweet with a cautionary notice that the story is malicious and fake.
