Forty-fifty percent of FDA employees are refusing the COVID-19 vaccine.

FDA didn't make any statement on employees refraining from getting vaccinated but spoke about the percentage of people getting jabbed.

FDA didn't make any statement on employees refraining from getting vaccinated but spoke about the percentage of people getting jabbed.A post widely circulated on social media claims that 40-50 percent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration employees are refusing the COVID-19 vaccine. The claim further says that the same was told by two top United States public health officials. The claim is misleading.

On May 11, 2021, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Peter Marks, director of the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, were questioned by Senator Richard Burr about the percentage of their employees who have received the COVID-19 vaccine jab.

While testifying before Senator Burr, Fauci said that he could not give an exact figure as some of his employees have got vaccines at the center, and some did not. He estimated that around 60 percent of his employees must have been jabbed so far. Even Marks said it was presumably in the same range of 60 percent for the FDA.

However, in addition, they did not make any statements regarding employees refusing to be vaccinated. (Video Ref, 2:20:22) Also, their comments about the vaccination percentage do not imply that the remaining people refused to get vaccinated.

According to the CDC data, as of June 14, 52.4 percent of the adults in the United States have taken at least one dose of the vaccine, and 43.4 percent (143.9 million) are fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
