Articles published by the NDTV & The Indian Express confirm that the Sikkim government has withdrawn the five-day working week system.The press release by the Sikkim government on 7 July 2019, states that the Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang had introduced a new notification stating that the government employees have to work from 10 am to 4:30 pm in five days a week and every Saturday of the month is a holiday.

The NDTV and The Indian Express report that the Sikkim government has withdrawn the five-day working week system, which had declared all Saturday as a holiday by CM Tamang. This change has been made by the Sikkim government as it was not happy with the performance of their employees. Additionally, the government has declared that employees would get holidays on second and fourth Saturday in a month, which will be effective from 1 April 2020.
