Tweet by BBC News and news report by Hindustan Times refutes that whales were spotted in Bombay High and the video was recorded by ONGC employee.A video went viral on social media claiming that Whales were spotted at Bombay High near ONGC oil rigs. The video shows a group of humpback whales in clear water. Upon research, we found that the video in question was actually shot in Indonesia and not in Bombay High. Bombay High is an offshore oilfield located about 176 km off the coast of Mumbai. The oil operations are run by India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and they have also confirmed that the video was not filmed near any of their installations or by any of their employees.
