The claim that forwarding messages of morning wishes on WhatsApp can lead to theft of data from a phone is false and baseless.There are no official reports or announcements regarding the viral message that claims that sending good morning messages on WhatsApp could lead to theft of personal data. The fake warning has mentioned that the Chinese hackers embedded phishing codes within the pictures and videos that are used in greeting-messages.

The message also claimed that it was reported by the Shanghai International News. A similar warning message circulated in 2017 and 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, which was also found to be fake.
