The University of Chicago has published a study on Meteoritics and Planetary Science which claims to have found information of millions of years of details about the moon from one single grain of lunar soil collected during the Apollo 17 mission. The method used for this study is known as atom probe tomography. This method has helped scientists to study the iron, water and helium contents on the lunar soil deposited as a result of millions of years of transformation on the lunar surface.
